Posts: 2 | samp posted @ 2021-11-15 5:57 PM Thanks, I will try to start as many trials as I can on time. Also, I noticed that if the current schedule of Time Trial is continued for part 3, then Time Trial 24 would overlap with Authors Panel. Author's Panel : 18th Nov, 14:30-16:00 Time Trial 24 if same schedule continues: 18th Nov, 15:00-18:00. I am interested in attending the Author's Panel but also would not want to miss starting the Time Trial on time. Is it possible to make them non-overlapping? |

Hello samp, Time Trial 24 is scheduled to start at 16.30 GMT on that day to avoid this clash. The full schedule can be seen in the overall IB: https://www.worldpuzzle.org/files/106/timetrials%20part%20one%20IB%2... Thank you for your interest, best of luck! :) |

Thank you all so much! On the Equestrian puzzle -- I see two neighboring circles in each puzzle with a 42 in both solutions (I didn't work them out myself), but are the shared digits going to be in the same orientation in both grids? In other words, would a possible puzzle have a 42 (in that order) in the Sudoku puzzle and those digits reversed into a 24 (in that order) in the Kakuro puzzle? I suspect it will be clear(er) during the solving process but just to be sure I thought I would ask here. |

Regarding Equestrian, there will be similar-looking circles across the two grids. They will not be coded but the identical pattern should hopefully be clear that we are sticking to the same orientation of all the placements. So no, it is not possible for digits to switch around. |

If not, why? This is a very good question and is precisely why we added "If the loop cannot travel in the wind’s direction upon entering a cell in which the wind blows (such as it results in the loop hitting the edge of the grid, or a black cell), it may not enter that cell" to the new version of the IB (see download link above). In the example, if the loop travels down from R2C4 to R3C4 it would be hit by the wind and will not be able to travel in the wind's direction as it will crash to the edge of the grid. Hope this helps. |
