Online. You can either play using the flash interface on your computer screen OR you can solve on paper by printing the pdf.

just finished the classic part of the test. the puzzles were nice, and as always with these I used the flash interface.

However, maybe it's just me, but I found the clash in fonts (typeface, weight, size, colour - pretty much everything!) between the givens and what I was entering made the whole experience pretty painful. I had to do one puzzle twice, and another 3 times because I kept confusing digits!

Nice set of puzzles. The inequality was too good with respect to the flow of solving, even though I made mistakes twice in it. It was really seamless in my third attempt. :)

When someone is disqualified, their answer immediately shows up for me (everyone?) on the results page, instead of being hidden until after the whole contest is over. This is probably not intended.

This was certainly not intended, but we are safe. When someone - who has not solved all 8 sudokus correctly - views the score page, he/she can see answers to the sudokus that they have submitted correctly.

I'm new here. I just want to practice sudoku test for beginners. But I don't want to be a part of the ratings. How can I do it? On FAQ it's written that I should just take off the mark about ratings close to the button "start test" But when I started that test I didn't see that marks at all! Help me, please.

Hie
That check box for test to be considered or not appears close to start test button before starting the test. If you start the test without making any changes, that check box goes away and by default consider this test for ratings. So look out before you start the test.
Hope this helps. :)

Beginners Tests are never considered for ratings.

I don't think that there should be such problem which you mentioned. Anyway to solve this problem immediately you can try using different browsers.

Do you mean the Beginners' Contest or any contest? If Beginners' Contest, nothing is planned at this moment. If something is, it'll be announced here on this same topic.

If you mean any Sudoku contest, look to the top right, you'll see the link for Special 8 Sudoku Test which is scheduled on 25th January.

It so happens that we will be announcing the next contest on this very thread shortly. You can start with that one and see where things go.

Please note that the dates were changed around 3 minutes after posting. Slight confusion here. Anyway, it's accurate now, 8th is when it will start.

But presumably not *December* 8th as stated in your post since it's the February contest :-)
