Posts: 54 Country : United States | Timjamiller posted @ 2021-11-18 8:58 AM I think there may have been an oversight in the answer key for Tae Kwon Do. This may be a spoiler, though. Anyway, the booklet didn't specify to use units digits, but the answer is marked as incorrect if you put in the full digit string. I'd assume that due to this oversight, appropriate errors will be rectified and the score will reflect the original time of the "error" in the answer key. Edit: This is particularly important for people, like me, who solved using ONLY the penpa link, and didn't see the instruction that was in the puzzle but not the IB. We understand and will accept the alternate answer key. The penalties will be manually revoked for those affected some time later. Thank you for pointing this out. Apologies for the snag. Posts: 2 | RogerChristman posted @ 2021-11-19 3:04 AM How do we get all unshaded cells into one single contiguous region if they are already separated into 3 separate non-contiguous regions? Adding more shading will not eliminate the grey shading that is already present. |

Country : India | Administrator posted @ 2021-11-19 3:07 AM The grey shading is for aesthetic purposes only. You may use some other colours to determine shaded and unshaded areas. The unshaded cells do not need to be a single contiguous region, only the shaded cells need to be. The unshaded cells just have the shape restrictions. |

Posts: 187 Country : New Zealand | kiwijam posted @ 2021-11-21 3:16 AM Uh oh, the rules for Aqre are wrong in the Instruction Booklet! Aqre has a rule that *you cannot have 4 unshaded cells in a row, anywhere in the grid*. This is not mentioned in the rules, and it is not used in the very-shaded example. So anybody trying the Basketball Time Trial is going to get very stuck one third of the way through unless they know this... |
