Country : New Zealand | kiwijam posted @ 2021-11-21 3:16 AM Uh oh, the rules for Aqre are wrong in the Instruction Booklet! Aqre has a rule that *you cannot have 4 unshaded cells in a row, anywhere in the grid*. This is not mentioned in the rules, and it is not used in the very-shaded example.
So anybody trying the Basketball Time Trial is going to get very stuck one third of the way through unless they know this... |

Country : India | We are very sorry about the missing rule. Thanks James and Philipp for pointing it out. For now we have added a note in the submission page which hopefully helps anyone who will try the puzzle in the future. Beyond that, we will discuss it and see if more action is to be taken. |

Country : India | After some internal discussion we have decided that the individual winners of Time Trial 8 and Time Trial 32 will stay, and the medals from these rounds will not count to country tallies. We will sort that out in the Hall of Fame page in a while. |

Note that this is a combination of the competition PDFs as they were without any updates for issues like multiple solutions or wrong rules. One prominent example is, in Puzzle 32, Aqre, there must be a rule added that "there cannot be a continuous line of 4 unshaded cells in any row or column". The other major point to note is that in the Pentathlon, the Word Search has a an alternate solution. If in doubt it may be best to visit the progress page and go to the relevant competition page to see if anything is noted.

3 vs 1 doesn't make as much difference as 33 vs 1 so we will probably leave it as it is. |
