In tents, Can there be tents placed both horizontally and vertically next to a tree?
Yes - like you have in both examples. But the tents will be attached to different trees. One tree has one tent and vice versa.

But second rule says tents cant touch each other diagonally. So if a two tents are placed vertically and horizontally next to a tree, then they are touching each other diagonally. And also not able to see any such case in the two examples.

I misunderstood your question. You are right. They cannot be both vertically and horizontally adjacent for a tree.

But two tents can both be vertically adjacent (or both be horizontally adjacent) to the same tree.

IB updated. Solutions for Tents examples now show the link between tents and trees.

Some minor changes in IB

1. Tents answer key - In case of double digit numbers in answer key, enter the right (unit) digit only
2. Minesweeper Instructionless - It was written in previous version of IB that two examples will be provided. Only one example will be provided.

This applies to Instruction-less Tents Variation too.

For the first Pentomino puzzle, the answer key asked for is "GF" instead of "FG".

How well did the variants represent the theme of the test ? variations represented the theme well
What was your opinion of the distribution of easy/hard puzzles? Too many medium difficult puzzles
What did you think about the puzzle quality of the test? Fairly Nice
Which set of puzzles did you like the most? Akari
What was your opinion about the answer key extraction? Answer keys could have been better
Of the puzzles you solved/attempted, how well did the point values reflect the difficulty? Most puzzles were worth the right amount
What was your opinion of the booklet formatting and printing? Just right

Have very mixed feelings about this test.

I really enjoyed the Tetromino/Pentomino and Akari sets. The Instructionless ones were good too.

Battleships were nice, but I found all of them very similar, using the total-sums logic to make deductions. Would've liked some variety.

Tents! Ohh man, I struggled on Tents. Not on the puzzles, as much on the answer keys. I found it too much of an effort to count all those cells, and it definitely is not 'negligible amount of time'.
I think using column position of left-most (or 2nd/3rd) tent would've worked just fine.

Thanks Rajesh and all the other authors for these wonderful puzzles in PR this year.

Many puzzles seemed to take a lot of time, and the answer keys added to the problem. Final frustration was spending about thirty minutes on the final instructionless minesweeper (my favorite puzzle) but not having enough time to count all the mines and peck the correct keys. Sometimes I really wish there were some other way to do contests other than just speed. The puzzles are really creative and satisfying but they are substantially more fun with the timer OFF.

Also while filling pentomino answer there shows up hint "4 digits" "6 digits" etc. it should be written "4 letters", "6 letters" etc.

Well that was a sad end for me. Puzzles were good but I didn't expect to be this hard for last round. Well May be I was too slow. I struggled a lot in Tents and Pento and then for answer keys. Made lot of mistakes and had to resolve 2-3 puzzles. Definitely not my day. It was nice to see, most of Tent puzzles with no numbers. I was expecting a low performance from me as couple of types are not in my like list, but didn't expect this bad. But anyways thanks Rajesh for wonderful set, Will Solve remaining puzzles soon. I liked the Akari Set and the Minesweeper (27 mines) and instruction less.

Thanks to all the PR authors and LMI for wonderful PR rounds throughout 8 months.

I found the Minesweeper Instructionless a bit weird to be included in an Object Placement round as it's really just the same as Linesweeper, which was in the Loops round. The clue just marks the cells the loop does not go through instead of the cells the loop does go through.
