Posts: 145 Country : France | auroux posted @ 2014-04-18 11:42 PM Hi Prasanna, the timers on the submission page seem to suggest the contest will only be open on April 19-20, not 19-21 as advertised. Would it be possible to extend the test to also run on Monday as I think was initially planned, since I am not sure I can do it within the currently listed 48-hour window? Thanks, Denis

Thanks, Denis I think thats mostly an error. We do intend to run it on Monday too like we usually do with LMI Contests now. I missed it, it should be fixed by tomorrow morning (India time). Sorry for the confusion.

No added implications. Only where the arrow is provided, the digit must be greater than the remaining 3. No Min/Max restrictions otherwise.

Will there be a unique classification at the end, including both US and THEM? Or there will be a separate / different leaderbord for each universe? Or the average of the two rankings for each player with his/her counterpart? Stefano

Posts: 668 Country : India | swaroop2011 posted @ 2014-04-19 7:49 AM Anyways, Awesome test Prasanna. Thanks for beautiful puzzles. My favourite: Hamle I did many mistakes while solving like trio, arrow and had to reprint page. I bymistakely entered wrong answer in classic sudoku dont know how, but corrected it immediately as instant grading is there. Could have completed two more if no mistakes at start, linked and maxed quads. But Overall i felt i have improved in sudoku than previous performances. Thanks again LMI and prasanna. Will have to solve remaining ones later. But wanted to request that" can we submit the other puzzles even after time is over just to check if its correct or not? - at present it displays cannot submit after 111 min " Edited by swaroop2011 2014-04-19 7:57 AM

That was a feast of sudokus!Last night I was thinking how it would be like to complete all sudokus except the 2 155 pointers and end up with 800 points.I remember number 8 as being the last thing on my mind before I dozed off.... So the first thing I did during the test was keeping the 2 bigger pointers seperately away from the rest and solve the remaining. As I see, this had worked to my advantage. Not sure if I would have touched even 500 if I had got a bit 'greedy' and attacked any of the higher valued ones. Keep my story aside and the test itself was incredible and fascinating! Of the ones I completed ,the stand-outs that I liked very much were Palindrome Search sudoku,Arrow sequences Sudoku and Consecutive sudoku in that order.Looking to complete the Hamle and Quad Max later. Incredible test Prasanna with lovely solve paths in all !Keep up the good work.Oh! should I say this to the Prasanna from the Parallel Universe too?! :-p

As I see the IB, I believe you've interpreted that numbers must move by a distance of 1 cell, whereas the rules say the movement will be the distance of the number's value. The two 4s in the IB move to R1C1 and R6C6.

Posts: 145 Country : France | auroux posted @ 2014-04-20 4:17 AM Very nice set. But as already pointed out above, the Hamle was (for me at least) easier than the Quad Max and in fact no harder than the Linked Consecutive. Still not sure if starting with the big ones was a reasonable strategy, but at least I had a lot of fun with those harder puzzles. Thanks Prasanna (from both universes)! |
