I would not say it is easy for an average solver, but I've seen ones that are a lot tougher than this one. Then you can place the 1 in row 8 (considering that there isn't edge between R9C67, then 4 can't be placed at R9C6 ). You can place 1 and 4 in 8th box, then the 9 in row 8, etc... I like how the N=3 works (I think that perhaps I'm the inventor of this variant?): You have to "think" digits into 3 groups: 1-4-7, 2-5-8 and 3-6-9. And in these groups 4, 5 and 6 play a central role. Each N has it's own logic, perhaps you have to think about it for each N before the test Fred |
