Thanks Deb.

I vote for 78 :-)
78 looks too high. I hope you will be right, and I'll be wrong

One player asked me how to remove pencil mark. So I think many players might not know this trick

Did you know that pressing Control key while left clicking on a pencil mark removes that pencil mark?
Try that out today - You would might need it in the test if you are solving online.

Not sure if this is the best place to answer. May be we should open a separate thread for these 'FAQ' kind of questions. It will be helpful for new players.

In Marked Quadro Sudoku, in the example from the IB, how can I make out that R7C5-R7C6-R8C5-R8C6 is NOT a 'Marked Quadro'? (Other than the noticeable square shape of the shaded cells?

Rohan, In the actual puzzle there won't be any 2X2 square which are adjoining to each other. Does that answer your question?

sorry to hear that.
may be 2 things would have helped you
1. solving the the types which are new to you individually from other mocks (for example mock12)
2. solving the example puzzles
