Welcome to the official website of the 6th Asian Sudoku Championship (ASC). Logic Masters India (LMI) is proud to be the host of this championship to be held at Vijay Park Hotel, Chennai, India on 18th-19th January 2025.

Team Structure

In all age categories (U10, U12, U15, Open), each country is permitted to register up to 4 official (A) and 4 unofficial (B) competitors. The organizers are working on the availability of additional number of non-competing guests and will update this later. Unofficial competitors will not be listed in the official results and will not be eligible for official awards and prizes, nor for taking part in the play-offs.

Each team must consist of 4 competitors. The official competitors of each country will form an official A-team. If there are less than 4 official competitors representing one country, they will be listed as official participants but only full A-teams will be listed in the official team results. All the competitors who are not part of A or B team, will be merged into United Nations (UN) teams with competitors from other countries. Only A-teams will be eligible for official team awards but all the teams will be eligible for additional unofficial prizes.

Participation

In order to compete in the Asian Sudoku Championship, individuals should contact their national member to the World Puzzle Federation (WPF), as listed on the WPF Member's Page. Each member country is obliged to conduct open, national qualifying tournaments. If your country is not listed, please get in touch with us.


Eligibility

One can participate in the championship as competitor (A/B team), captain, member of team delegation (WPF delegate or guest) or organiser. A team consists of 4 members. Only WPF members from Asian countries can compete at the championship. Members from outside Asia can compete in an unofficial capacity. There are no restrictions on who can register as a non-competing guest. Guests will be able to observe the championships in progress, and take part in all meals and activities alongside the competitors.

  • All amounts in INR.
  • We want to encourage participants to register early.
  • Guests will be charged an additional 20% over the standard charges for the participants.
  • All payment costs charged for direct bank transfer must be paid by the sender.
These costs cover the following:
  • Transfer between airport and hotel
  • Accommodation (18th-20th Jan)
  • Meals and coffee
  • WiFi
  • All competition material
  • Prizes and awards
Note:
Depending on the number of registrations and the availability, some participants may be accommodated in nearby hotels. More information on this will be provided later.

Registration

For ASC 2025, the registration process will be as follows:

  • For WPF full members countries the registration process will be handled by the member's representative.
  • Participants from the full member countries should reach out to the representative listed as per WPF members page.
  • The representative will provide details regarding the participants from the member country as well as Guests using the registration form below.
  • Personal Members should reach out to us directly by filling up the registration form below.
  • All other participants who are not from a member country or are unable to reach their national representative, please contact us directly using email.

Location & Travel

Chennai

Chennai is one of India's largest cities and the capital city of the state of Tamil Nadu. The city is famous for its traditional South Indian food and rich history. Chennai is a coastal city and has several beaches.
During January, expected temperatures range from 21°C - 29°C with average humidity of 60-70%. The weather will be pleasant and sunny throughout.


The Vijay Park

ASC 2025 will be hosted at The Vijay Park Hotel, Arumbakkam, Chennai.
The Vijay Park is a business class hotel chain in the city. Vijay Park Arumbakkam is a 3-star hotel in the heart of Chennai. The main event will be hosted in Radha Hall (7th floor) with an area of 340 m^2. Many of the popular destinations in Chennai are located close to the hotel.

Travel

We recommend taking a flight to Chennai. The nearest airport is Chennai International Airport (MAA). There are direct flights to Chennai from many international destinations, as well as domestic transfer flights from other hubs in India.
The hotel is 13 km (~ 8 miles) from the airport (30-45 mins). Our team will arrange free transfer to and from Chennai airport to the Vijay Park Hotel.
The most convenient mode of transport in Chennai is taking an AC (Air conditioned) taxi. Apps such as Uber and Ola are affordable and widespread. Public transportation (AC buses, Metro trains) are also available.
