A preliminary version of part one of the Instruction booklet can be found here - (edit - new version up. see below) (and on the main landing page). We are still working out the little things.

The time trials will run throughout the event in short intervals. Each will have separate winners.

Within each 3 hour window, does it matter when we start the puzzle? E.g. will a 5-minute solve right at the start of the window be considered equal to a 5-minute solve that is started halfway through?

Hello,

No. Time starts at the same time for everyone globally.
Think of it has 33 LIVE events - this is a nod to Nikoli Time Trials from back in the day.
I understand it will be impossible to participate in all events, but we've tried to spread it out so people can give some a go.

To add to what Tawan mentioned above, there will not be any "Start Button" for these puzzles. For every participant, the start time will be recorded as the same time the puzzle goes LIVE.

For the Archery puzzle in the instruction booklet, I believe the solution is not uniqe: 17,29 and 19,27 also seems valid to me.

The first Time Trials is starting in a few hours.

This is the first experiment with LIVE contests on LMI so we hope things go smoothly.

Before the gun fire; we suggest you familiarize yourself with the rules and answer keys and have the PDF loaded and ready. The password will be dropped for everyone at the same time. For those solving online; there will be a button that says Penpa Link which will take you to Penpa.

No answer checking is enabled. You will still have to submit answers on LMI.

The PDF file also has a shortened link underneath the puzzle. You can also access the link by copying the URL there.Though clicking the Penpa button will be faster.

Happy puzzling!

Shoot, I didn't know the word "LIVE" in the IB meant a contest with a fixed starting time. I was pretty lucky to have found out this fact only 1 minute after the beginning, but I suspect a lot others might have missed it due to the same misunderstanding...

We were a little concerned about the load on the website and wanted to see how it performs. Refreshing of the results page is a large part of that traffic so we played it safe. We'll run the numbers and release results soon.

The Score Page is now live. We have installed a 2 hour cooldown to control frequent refreshing. Also, we have not implemented the penalties yet, so wrong submissions will be adjusted later.

There is a time error in the instruction booklet. When it says EST 20:00, it should read EST 22:00. This happens across multiple days.

The fixed schedule is up as a separate PDF here - https://www.worldpuzzle.org/files/106/schedule%20time%20trials%20fix... and is reflected on the landing page too.

To avoid confusion you can also check the Progress link at the top right of the home page which counts down to the start of or end of each event.

1. Yes, it is a possible answer. Sorry, the example is not unique.
2. Yes, you can. You just cannot hit the same number on the same board.
