Posts: 145 Country : France | auroux posted @ 2021-04-17 12:55 AM Either I'm broken or this test is... but in at least one instance the instant grading insists a valid solution is false, while the final results table says it's correct. Another problem seems to have no valid solution, or I'm making a reasoning error (which is entirely possible, given how distracted I got about the correct grid being marked false). |

Posts: 668 Country : India | swaroop2011 posted @ 2021-04-17 7:49 PM Wonderful set of puzzles. Unfortunate I couldn't finish the test, but Math is my weak type which I have been trying to improve slowly. Considering I left out only one puzzle, I am happy with the performance. I liked that Classics were more approachable compared to previous SM rounds. I could finish all of those in last 8-10 minutes. Great work Madhav. Excited to see more contests authored by you in the future. My favourite: 1) Mathrax 9x9 2) Product Sandwich 9x9 3) Partial Killer 6x6 in no particular order. Wonderful logic. Thanks to LMI and testers as well. |

Posts: 1 Country : France | arna posted @ 2021-04-18 3:56 AM Thanks a lot for this set of puzzles. Like swaroop2011 I liked the classics because they were more approachable than the March's round. I have to say I did not understand at all the Sandwich product 6x6 with only numbers from 1 to 5 outside of the grid. If someone can explain me, I would be gladful, thanks a lot. |

Posts: 15 Country : The Netherlands | bakpao posted @ 2021-04-18 6:04 PM I echo Swaroop's comments, math is by far my weakest type but I'm really glad to have gotten through most of the puzzles. A bit bummed I lost perfect completion on all rounds, but if there was going to be a round to break the streak, it was always going to be math :-). Liked the set a lot, always enjoy Madhav's puzzles! 9x9 mathrax was a wonderful puzzle. |

Posts: 30 Country : India | kheti posted @ 2021-04-19 6:53 PM Very nice set of puzzles. I was stuck with the 9*9 Partial Killer and had to use Phistomefel's ring theory to solve it in my spare time. Was that the desired solve path or was I overcomplicating things? |

Posts: 1 Country : India | paramgoswami posted @ 2021-04-20 12:35 PM I dont think so phistomefel is required.. i just saw that box 7 needed 1 and 2 outside of the 17 and 25 cages, and 1 cant be in the 19 cage. then i used the same in box 1 and got 2 and 3 out of cages. I started like this |

Posts: 10 Country : India | Madmahogany posted @ 2021-04-21 9:02 PM Hi! The killer doesn't require the implementation of Phistomefel's ring. The intended beginning involves inclusion-exclusion counting of the boxes 1,4 and 7, and the rest is fairly straightforward killer combinations. Hope this helps. |

Posts: 17 Country : India | Anu G posted @ 2021-04-24 9:08 AM I am not a Math student so did not expect to solve any variant especially since it was authored by a young Math whiz. I am glad I managed to solve both the Mathrax and the 6by6 equation :). I wasted a lot of time on the 9by9 equation sudoku but kept breaking. The classics were very good. I look forward to solving the other variants at leisure. |
