I loved the puzzles as well :)

However I had the opposite problem. The thermometers were okay, but I couldn't see my pencil lines at all on the windoku.

Could you elaborate on this issue (pencil lines?) - Is it related to the Penpa interface or the printout from pdf?

Wonderful test, but can you please make the gray darker next time. It's so light. I have my printer far from being out of ink and it's color-printer, but I literally didn't see the thermometers when it came out.

Thanks for the feedback. We will try to make the shading slightly darker in the coming tests.

It was from printing the pdf. Although the shading was too light for TiiT, it was too dark for me.

Edit: actually the shading was fine for most of the puzzles, but the shading on the overlapping windoku was so dark I could hardly see what I had written.

A wonderful set of Puzzles.
I messed up the Alphabet sudoku and couldn't finish on time.
The favorite puzzle was Thermo.
Thanks, Kumaresan, LMI, and the testers.
Great start to the SM.

I started my solving train smoothly and picked up speed gradually. I had to slow down a little at the 8 point classic and again picked up speed.
All of a sudden I had to climb a very steep gradient in the form of 9×9 diagonal and that swallowed my time a lot. Once I crossed that hurdle, I breezed through the remaining upto the 6×6 Thermo after which my time was up.
I really loved the 9×9 diagonal. The choice of letters in the Alphabet sudokus made it easy for solving.
Thankyou Kumaresan for giving a chance for a satisfying performance.

Fantastic set of sudokus! This should be the level of SM rounds according to me.
Wonderful contest.

Favourite sudokus:
Thermo 6x6
Pencilmarks 6x6
Thermo 9x9

Thanks Kumaresan!

It's nice how it shows an update after each time I look at the results. Green ones are the ones who are solving and the orange color shows if someone new has finished the round. But it doesn't work with the top 20. It's difficult to tell who is the new solver who made it into top 20. Am I the only one who it bothers?

I felt very exhilarated after completing this contest. Almost all the sudokus had a crystal clear and highly enjoyable solve path. According to me, this should be the standard of SM rounds so that beginners don't get intimidated. Some of my favourite sudokus were 9*9 diagonal, 6*6 pencilmarks and 9*9 thermo.

Hats off to the author, LMI and test solvers.

Nice contest to start the season! I had some trouble with my printer and had to restart my computer. I noticed that the contest timer was reset after restarting my computer. It didn't give me any advantage because of the printer issues :) but you might want to check why that happened.

Very nice Sudoku puzzles in this test. Each puzzle has a good logical flow.
My personal favourite in this test is both Thermo Sudoku puzzles.
Thanks, Kumaresan for this wonderful set of puzzles.

Echoing what Rohan said, felt this was the perfect set of sudokus with regards to difficulty level and quality as well. Enjoyed the sudokus. My solve was a bit slow, as I encountered snags in the Diagonal sudoku and the 8 pointer classic, but was more or less smooth elsewhere. Favorites would be the Thermo 9*9 and the Thermo 6*6. Thank you, Kumaresan sir.

Kumaresan's sudokus are usually very difficult to solve. It was a pleasant surprise that the sudokus in the set were mostly of moderate difficulties. The sudokus were nice to solve as well. I broke the alphabet 9x9 and was stuck in diagonal 9x9. My favourites were thermo 9x9, pencilmarks 6x6, thermo 6x6 and windoku 9x9. The classic sudokus were nice as well. Enjoyed this set of sudokus by Kumaresan.

Wrong score is showing for me.
Pressing submit button two times reduced the mark unnecessarily.

At the outset I thank LMI for giving me an opportunity to author SM1.
Thank one and all for active participation in the contest.
I am very happy to see the positive feedback.
As Akash said Normally I use to submit hard puzzles and after testing either its difficulty level is reduced or replaced with new one. But this time except Alphabet all are accepted as it is.
special Thanks to Rakesh Rai for his cooperation guidance and test solving for this contest.
congrats Tantan Dai, Tiit Vunk and Seungjae Kwak for taking the top 3 positions.
Congrats to Prasanna Seshadri , Rohan Rao and Pranav Kamesh for taking the top 3 positions from Indian participants.
