Please consider giving slightly more, say a couple of hours, either way fine. I want to note that a large reason for this contest is to test out the new submission page under certain parameters. The small window is a part of those parameters. Its a fun contest, and the more people participate, the more comfortable we will be with the system for future contests. |

Please confirm timings too, so that all participants can plan ahead As I said earlier, the small window part is an essential component of our testing, so the timings will be the same as the plan was if the contest had gone ahead today (6.30 PM to 8.30 PM). The notice part was a good point and that is all that has changed. |

Posts: 145 Country : France | auroux posted @ 2021-01-09 2:11 AM I understand the short time window is needed as a test of the new system. But I do hope that going forward, future contests at LMI will return to having a 3-4 day window, which is much more practical for those of us who have to find time for puzzles around work and family constraints. |

Posts: 2 Country : France | FifiR posted @ 2021-01-10 5:58 PM As it is a test, my first feeling with the new system is that it seems to work, but the submitting has less pity than before. If I double click by mistake on "submit" (or I reclick because there was some delay and I thought it wasn't good on the first time), it is counted as a bad answer. If I submit an answer that can't be a valid one (highlighted in red), it is counted as a bad answer, and that wasn't the case before. |

Thanks to the 133 participants. Those who could not take part earlier can always start the test "unofficially" and solve it like a normal timed test. |

Posts: 5 Country : The Netherlands | sojaboon posted @ 2021-01-11 3:40 PM Well, you can't claim a time bonus if you skip a puzzle, so I just entered it. I figured everyone could just do that, so it would be fair. |

Posts: 1801 Country : India | prasanna16391 posted @ 2021-01-11 4:29 PM If a puzzle has 80 digits, you would enter the 81st and say it is solved. If a puzzle has 81 digits, is recognizing that it does and is solved also "solving it"? I don't know but what I do know is sometimes these things happen and its best to just put in the answer and reflect over it later. |
