Very nice puzzles! These were all well written. I like Transparent Yajilin a lot and hope it shows up more often.

Favorites:

2 Nurikabe
11 Border Nurikabe
14 Yajilin
16 Ripple Loop
22 Transparent Yajilin

Thank you. I liked it too, a very interesting set of deductions can be possible in this variant. Hopefully, I will create more puzzles of this type in future.

I really enjoyed the puzzles, though I think I don't get the windows rules completely. Can someone explain why this solution to puzzle 5 isn't valid? (x = shaded, _ is white)
___xxxxx
xx_x____
_xxxxxxx
_x______
_xxxxxx_
_x____x_
xxxx_xxx
_____x__

Houk13:

In your solution, many given shaded cells are showing as unshaded. (Example R2C7). Did you solve the same puzzle?

Otherwise, it seems a valid windows solution.

Hey Bob. One misinterpretation you're having is that you're allowing empty spaces to occur. The puzzle instructions say that the loop must visit every cell.

The rule I was having trouble with was the horizontal/vertical adjacency stuff...mostly because I overlooked that in my first readthrough. I was originally thinking that it was path adjacent (like ghirsh) and not cell-adjacent.

Thanks for finding my mistake. Even when re-reading my eyes gloss right over the little word "all" since I am assuming it is a Masyu variation (which it is not). This makes the larger puzzles possible; thanks again. bob

Great puzzles with a good balance of difficulty.

I had a smooth run until I hit Windows (7) and Border Nurikabe (12).These 2 ate up a sizeable chunk of my time.In the end, I was just extremely lucky to submit the 12 pointer at exactly the last second !!

Thanks Swaroop for a nice puzzle set.Favourites are Nurikabe and Myopia.

Nice test, Swaroop.
This goes to show that not all easy puzzles are boring.
A lovely introduction to these types where a lot of existing puzzles written could be impossibly difficuly for newer solvers.
Thanks!

Thanks Swaroop, this felt like a perfect PR round to me. Easy puzzles (but, honestly, not *that* easy to solve rigorously, so very much appropriate for a contest targetted towards less experienced solvers. Thanks a lot!

I feel lucky for the instant grading, since my one mistake was a real mistake (I'd let some transparent yajilin clues unused by the loop) and not just an input error.
