Last year the IB and PB had the same layout and this time too the IB has that layout 1. Last year's IB and PB had different layouts. 2. We are not creating new puzzles for IB. So, this year's IB has same puzzle as previous years. This is true for all episodes.

I expect this to be moved to another thread since it has nothing to do with Irregulars. In the future you can just create a new topic in he General discussion forum to ask such doubts. For this particular one, there is only one shaded cell I can see where a 6 can be placed. Maybe that helps? Also there are some nice tricks in eliminating digits from R5C5. It can't be 2 because it forces a 2 in R2C4, can't be 5 because it forces a 5 in a shaded cell in box 6 and can't be 4 because it forces a 4 in R8C6 (noted before you place the 6 there)

An excellent, testing and a hard set.I had tremendous fun doing this test. With 20 mins to go for the 16 point instructionless, and having figured out the rules,I was confident of finishing it comfortably. But it turned out to be incredibly sticky and I had to put too many pencil marks before getting it right.Towards the end, there was a lot of panic as the timer began to slowly go under the 5min mark.I was almost sure that I would end up broken but thankfully there were no errors. It felt great to complete the set.A hard set but a really good set of sudokus. My favourites were the Classic (10),and scattered(12).I enjoyed solving the rest too but they gave a bit more trouble than I would have wanted. So that concludes SM with a beautiful set to complete it . Looking forward to the offline finals and hopefully to attend it and meet like minded people :). Would love to know the individual contributions by the authors !Thanks for the fun test! Lots of aha moments in this fun collection, even in the classic sudokus. I usually leave the easy 6x6 puzzles until the end for spare minutes but I was working the first instructionless until nearly the last minute...someday I shall finish one of these.

I think the only problem was the location of the answer keys. In the 2-nd 6x6 classic the answer key column was the first column I solved there. I actually solved taht column + 4 other digits in the grid.

Some of the classic Sudoku puzzles in this test were far more difficult than the assigned point values, and indeed more difficult than some of the fancy variations. I felt the variants were good though; no complaints in this section.

I felt the variants were good though; no complaints in this section. I felt the 6x6 ones (and 8x8 one) were fair, but the 9x9 ones were too tricky for their value. I usually don't have any problems with the classic 9x9s so was surprised here by this.

I like Instructionless the most. I couldn't solve it in time, but after the test I enjoyed it so much. Good techniques were used in both of them.
