Very fun. I could have saved a minute, too, if I'd noticed the "Puzzles 11-20" tab. That was a tough thing to find :)

Meh... Nice joke but no fun for those of us who were looking forward to a puzzle contest :( With 4x4 grids this could have been much better.By the way, I would like to dedicate my performance to AT&T -- "providing third-world quality internet access at first-world prices since 1876" -- who kindly contributed an extra 30 seconds to my solving time...Denis

Excellent test its not FAST its actually LIGHTNING FAST :)
After opening the puzzle booklet and saw the first puzzle I was thinking "Did I open the right pdf?, Are these the puzzles?"
Looks like the test is designed to test the capability of entering the answer keys without errors :D.

The test is really fun, especially the last one. Looking forward to more of such tests.

Thanks and Regards,
Ravi

I am only able to view the first page. I have re-downloaded it several times. Is this intentional?

Still trying to get this to work. Only LMI contest I've ever had technical trouble with. First page appears normal, other nine just say "PDF" No amount of clicking or reloading does anything else. Oh well I solved two of them for last place!

Good. I too initially thought this as IB. After downloading thrice and failing to print, I realized the PB. The first contest I finished full and got bonus points. Good fun on fools day. Thanks

All I can say, on behalf of the author (which also means I am not the author), the points distribution is not random.

Sooo... Guess who.

I am the author of the test.

Thank you for everyone that has participated (although the test is still running!), and I hope you had fun. It was my idea to put an April Fools test on LMI. Initially my idea was 12x12 puzzles with trivial answer keys, but Deb gave a different idea of making the puzzles as small as possible, and so you see it: my Fillomino scores the lowest number of cells in a puzzle on LMI ever. (I intentionally didn't put 1x1, because one might see the Fillomino to have only one answer key field before starting. Also if an empty 1x2 is still unique, why not? Nurikabe was different; Deb liked a previous version with 12x12 and that 17 replaced with 136, so there, the hardest puzzle of the test. Heyawake came close as second.)

Congratulations to xevs, at the moment, to hold the fastest time of 153 seconds, thus also amassing the highest score on LMI ever with nearly 43.5 thousand points (unless someone knocks him from the top place on this contest). About me being on the scoreboard? That was a test entry (which Deb didn't remove...), with the sole penalty being a Hitori that was updated about 20-30 minutes before test started and Deb hasn't changed the answer key meanwhile. (I excused for "typo" to some people that asked me.)

As it turns out, even this test is still not perfect, with some people having technical problems... But most importantly a person that struggled with the test, finishing 18 puzzles with 44 penalties and timed out. Oops, I should have removed the examples from the Puzzle Booklet; looks like he tried to solve the examples from what the records say.

If this runs on and I turn out to author the next April Fools Contest...well, expect the unexpected. :P

Did you notice the footer in the Puzzle Booklet? ;)

Again, thank you for your participation! Please rate the puzzles too.

Time to ask about the technical problems.

Can you attach a screenshot or something? The PB is intentionally designed to be not printable and not editable, but selectable (the images can be copied); I might mess up with something when fiddling with those unusual settings.

Hang on... Am I seeing things wrongly, or is the total (raw) score 1273 points, such that 50000 points requires completion in roughly 1.5 minutes? Surely I'm miscounting? Even the 20 answer keys need more than that...

April Fool...... This is my first LMI Test to be completed. What a surprise... Didnt expect it to turn out like this after seeing the Points Distribution. :-D

Luckily I don't have a Printer. Nurikabe needed MS Paint to solve.

...the PB has a large tip box at top-right corner of the first page. That was exactly my concern, but I decided putting such large box will be a clear warning.

Sorry for taking the test not on April 1st. Next time we'll make sure the test is open only for that one day, even if that spoils the fact that it's an April Fools test.

@meowme: Yes, that's 1.5 minutes. Assuming you already expect this to be an April Fools test and is used to solve things on computer, that's not really unreasonable...

Large tip Box?Don't fool around. It just says "Do not print this PB".It never says you CAN'T print this PB and you know something? I did start this test on April 1st and it doesn't matter when I take the test as I still would have been fooled just like many others here even if I had taken it on a 1st ,a 2nd or a 3rd .In fact I even asked Deb yesterday to cancel my start feeling that the problem is created due to my slow net speed.I was careful not to take even a glance at the puzzles thinking that it would be unfair to ask for a re-start after that. But I was never told yesterday that this was some stupid joke.

Let me say you something.I am not against people playing pranks on April Fools day but this JUST ISN'T the place to try out your monkey antics (or of anyone else' for that matter) nor should the jokes be in such a way that it hurts others in some way .Just because you don't have anything better to do doesn't mean that everyone in here would be the same way.My earnest advice at this point is to scrap this crappy test immediately and I sincerely hope that the April Contest coming up next is also not crap like this .This is just for the benefit of other LMI members and not for me as I have decided to skip the April contest .I don't want to be fooled again nor waste my time on stupid stuff like these.By playing out this 'high octane drama' along with you , LMI has made a fool not just of its members but of itself too.
