Posts: 32 Country : Turkey | zhergan posted @ 2010-11-01 3:26 AM Hi to all, The instruction booklet seems really exciting I really like the concept Arrow Sudoku (#14) very much. In the last days I published 6 arrow sudoku puzzles in the puzzle portal of the German site http://www.logic-masters.de/ . Three of them were rated as very easy, one of them is rated as easy, one of them is rated as middle and my last one has not rated yet and remains unclassified (in which there exist some arrows travelling outside the grid and then entering the grid again) by the solvers in the portal. You may reach them using the following links: #1: http://www.logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=000... #2: http://www.logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=000... #3: http://www.logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=000... #4: http://www.logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=000... #5: http://www.logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=000... #6: http://www.logic-masters.de/Raetselportal/Raetsel/zeigen.php?id=000... and try to solve them as a practice for the puzzle #14. If you obtain solutions you may control the correctness by simply registering yourself and entering the solution according to the described solution code. Also the puzzle portal includes so many puzzles of different kind. I can say that there exist also lots of sudoku puzzles (mostly variants) published by different authors and with varying difficulty levels. Regards, Zafer |

Posts: 32 Country : Turkey | zhergan posted @ 2010-11-01 10:27 PM Hi, Thomas Snyder and Wei-Hwa Huang gave some examples to surplus sudoku in their book with name "Mutant Sudoku". I also don't have the book but I observed some of its pages through the link http://books.google.com.tr/books?id=XXvAAfdvYZ0C&printsec=frontcove... It has pages 97-101 about surplus sudoku. Pages 97, 98 and 100 are included in the preview. But 99 and 101 is not included in the preview page of Google Books. There exist two 9x9 surplus sudokus on page 100 with names "Large Windmill" and "Large Diamond". Don't forget it is a copyrighted material and actually it is better to have this book in your hand if you like sudokus. You may check preview pages and get an idea how a 9x9 surplus sudoku will look like. It seems like an exciting concept. Regards, Zafer |

I am not able to understand the variant............ On Fed-sudoku (http://www.fed-sudoku.eu/enindex.php?co=) There are rounds named "Krtek's cup" (from Czech author Jan "Krtek" Novotny), where there are 8 grids of one type for each variant. One round was titled "More-or-less sudoku" which consist of Surplus sudoku and Deficit sudoku of different size. You may check pdf file of this round with grids and solutions: http://www.fed-sudoku.eu/zadania/Krtek/KP025en.pdf Puzzle 5 and 6 correspond exactly to ukpa rule for this puzzle. Posts: 32 Country : Turkey | zhergan posted @ 2010-11-03 8:28 AM Hi again, I've posted my last message which includes the solution using Mozilla Firefox and the solution seems very tiny in my browser window. But when I tried to open my message in Internet Explorer the solution had been displayed to me with a visible font. I'm not sure that how it is displayed to others because of this. Maybe I have some problems with my Internet Explorer settings. Most of the time I prefer using Firefox. I tried to give the solution in a very tiny font keeping in mind that members may want to deal with it and then check their solution. Can admin help me to correct if there exists an error? I gave the test from my mobile as its raining heavily here, struggling to draw the grid and copying the question if this is not done may be I would have solved 2 more sudoku's. Anyway it was enjoying solving them. Edited by macherlakumar 2010-11-08 1:03 AM |
