In Nagastra, when the clues say "using a mine" or "using a star", does it imply that the Path passes the region in the subsequent steps OR does it have to be just the next step?

In Box and Blob, the X mark (in C7, between R4 and R5) is an indicator that there won't be a green line there (otherwise there would be 2 solutions for that region), correct?

Using a mine or a star can be in any subsequent step and not necessarily in the next step. In the IB example you can see this demonstrated for the star in R4C2.

It's right there in the rules. Mea culpa...

So, a maximum of one sword? One or zero swords?

In 9 and 10 "Khanda Thrust" does every block of shaded cells have to be pointed at by a sword? Ie. Does "only one sword" mean "exactly on sword"?

Exactly one sword. Like in the IB example.
Note that 'pointed to' here indicates the block that is immediately adjacent to the two ends of the sword.

Yes, every shaded block is pointed at by only (or exactly) one sword. Like in the IB example.

PFA details of the IB example.

The blue regions are pointed to by the blue sword.
The green regions are pointed to by the green sword.
The red regions are pointed to by the red sword.
