The test looks great-- thanks! One comment: I believe the Cubic Star Battle example is not unique. For example, the 5th star in row 3 can be moved to position 6, and the 6th star in row 5 can be moved to position 5. While this solution will have the same answer key as the given solution, there is another solution that has a different answer key (swap the 2nd and 3rd stars in rows 3 and 11; permute the 4th 5th, and 6th stars in the 3rd, 5th, and 10th rows.) On the other hand, maybe I'm all wrong!

In any case, can we assume solution uniqueness? Thanks and happy new year!

The puzzle is unique. You have to remember that the stars can't touch eachother, not even diagonally.

In Ripple effect, should we start counting from the cell next to the number or from the cell containing the number itself?

But some 5s are only 4 cells apart in the sample puzzle in IB. How?

The restriction only counts for every individual row or column. So in each row or column there should be at least N cells between two numbers N. So for example, between two 3's in the same row or column there should be at least 3 cells.

How balanced do you think the puzzle types of this test were? Perfectly balanced
What was your opinion of the distribution of easy/hard puzzles? Just right
What did you think about the puzzle quality of the test? Very nice
What was your opinion about the answer key extraction? Perfect answer keys
How did you feel about the length / time limit for this test? Just right
Of the puzzles you solved/attempted, how well did their point values reflect the difficulty/time spent? Most puzzles were worth the right amount
What was your opinion of the booklet formatting and printing? I have a different complaint

Booklet formatting and printing: Bold borders and non-bold borders aren't really distinguishable.

Perhaps it's the fact that I printscreened the images at a zoom level not 100% (I solve by MS Paint and MS Excel because I don't have any printer easily accessible), so thin lines might seem thick.

What exactly are the rules for when you can and when you can't claim a puzzle's points? Is it exclusively if you think that the puzzle was broken? or also if you misdid the answer key? For my case, I mixed up the white and black cells answering the mochikoro. Does it still count? Should I claim the points?

Thanks!

Certainly a valid claim in this case. We'll look into it.
