It was earlier replied that the event is expected to close around 6 PM. That was for a different region, but I guess timings will be the same.

It will be better to book a night train or flight, may be around 10 pm. The Chennai round ended at around 6.45 to 7 as there was a tie for fourth place.

Since there were both types in the previous rounds, I guess it will be the same in Delhi. Try training on variants if you haven't already !

Things you need while solving a sudoku - your lucky pen / pencil, eraser, writing pad etc

Prasanna,
I used to play sudoku on my mobile or newspaper. I have not played any tournament so far.
I have no idea, how the points are evaluated or deducted in tournaments?
Can u plz guide me?

In general, points are given when you fill the grid with all digits in their correct position. If not, you get no points. If you want further details, check out the monthly tests(link is around top of the page) and study the points systems.

Sudoku competitions are like examinations where marks (points) are awarded to the puzzles based on the difficulty level (which is directly proportional to the time required by a any solver). Ofcourse it depends on the level of solver, but the same solver can always differentiate between two puzzles and comment on the difficulty level. Most important point in OFFLINE (Paper) competitions is if even one cell is WRONG or BLANK you get ZERO points for that puzzle and there are no marks for partially solved puzzle.

All the best, just dont worry about points, try and solve each puzzle. Happy Solving.
