First of all... great looking grids Fred.... will be nice to make a comeback to LMI test with your test....

And here is some news for solvers which is not related to this test!!!

Adobe PDF Reader X is the new free product from Adobe. It allows you to add text directly to a pdf. People like me who have printer issues can now open the pdf and solve directly instead of creating grids or pasting in ms paint and then solving. The link for download is added below.

I know that LMI already has an online interface for sudoku. But this is helpful for puzzle tests and other sudoku competitions around the globe where printing is needed. Hope this is helpful to ppl.

Adobe PDF Reader X

I wonder if Fred has tried the revenge methods we talked about on facebook...

Haha ! Grids were hard enough ! I didn't to try to make them harder
Last time we authored a test at LMI ( http://logicmastersindia.com/lmitests/?test=M201103S ) nobody achieve to finish all the grids correctly in time, so this time I hope it'll not be the case

Untouch sudokus that I posted on my blog last week were initially planned as 13th grid for this test: http://sudokuvariante.blogspot.com/search/label/Untouch (untouch N°1 for the IB and untouch N°2 for the test).

I find it convenient when the diagonal lines of Anti Diagonal are given. It doesn't matter much but maybe if others prefer it too, it could be added.

Google search for Anti Diagonal Sudoku showed this link at the top - http://rohanrao.blogspot.in/2010/03/rules-of-anti-diagonal-sudoku.h...

Looking forward to a 'sudoku' test (after more than a month).

All players can answer the poll in the beginning of this thread.

From my point of view it does not matter, but as I don't play, I'll not answer the poll.
Rohan, I noticed that anti-diagonal that are on your blog have no diagonal lines given . But I can add them if a majority of players want, there is no problem for me.

Should've kept "no" and "does not matter" as two separate options in the poll, now the people who wanted it might get out voted by people to whom it didn't matter. Of course this is in hindsight, it just struck me.

As there is a big majority in the poll who said that it were not better to have marked diagonal in the anti-diagonal sudoku (or it does not matter) , I'll not add them.
Sorry for the 7 people who voted for marked diagonals in the anti-diagonal sudoku, I hope you'll have fun solving this grid despite that.

I just find it handier to know any marked diagonal means different digits.

I got through this one by a complex work through of where the 9s can and can't be, first of all I'd suggest you put the 8 in R1C1, as the 5-7 pair take up the below row and the 9 in the middle omits a 9 in either of the main diagonals. After that, either just look at the 9s and think hard about the possibilities with the queen rule, or find another way and tell me as well

This grid is perhaps a bit hard for the instructions booklet. Prasanna is right, you must study the 9's and try to find a contradiction. I think it's the only possibility to crack this grid.
For example, if you try to put a 9 in R6C1, then you have a 9 in R9C3 (only option is that box), then it has to be in R8C9 (only option in this row), then in R4C7 and then you cannot place a 9 in column 8.

So you know that R6C1 is not a 9, and then it becomes easier to finish the grid.
