Note for paper Solvers : As discussed here, we have added 2 text boxes for each grid.

For the answer key, it will either be 2 rows, or 2 column or a row and column.

When filling in the answer key using the text boxes, please note that

If the Answer Key is 2 rows, then please fill the top row first and then the bottom row next.

If Answer Key is 2 columns, then fill the left column first followed by the second column.

If the answer key is 1 row and 1 column, Then fill the row first followed by the column.

This is to ensure there is no confusion when submitting answers.

There is no change for online solvers.

In the Diagonal - Non-consecutive sudoku, can two adjacent cells in different boxes be consecutive? In the solution, R6C6 and R7C6 are 5 and 4 respectively..

R6C6 is a 7 I think (5 is in R4 in the same column)

Zalak,no 2 adjacent cells can be consecutive. Even if they are across 2 boxes. Fred was correct when he said that R6C6 is a 7 not a 5.

Hi,

I get a "Please try again" message when I try to start the test. And I am pretty sure that there is no error in my nickname or my password... Could somebody have a look at it ?

Thanks !

I have two instant reactions to this test. First, absolutely incredible puzzles, beautifully constructed and amongst the best I've ever solved. Phenomenal job Rishi. Second, I'm kicking myself for answer entry problems which spoiled a much better score. Not the fault of the new entry mechanism. Just bad transcription from paper.

Thanks a lot Thomas... Means a lot coming from you.... and yes... I was awake keenly watching you solve... Your timing was not far off from my estimate.... then I saw the entry typo... was sitting here hoping you notice it and you eventually did ... Great job once again Thomas..

Great puzzle! I submitted the test and got a response with the time submitted... But when I click for the results, I get:
"Results will be displayed after 02/14/2011 05:29:59 AM IST or after you complete the test (whichever is earlier)."

As Rishi mentioned, you haven't started the test. From the database, I found that you've solved and submitted the 'Example' puzzle.

You need to login and start the test to see the actual puzzles
After you complete the test, you should be able to see your score and others' too.
