An extremely challenging test, in my opinion. The variants were too tough and carried maximum points. But the sudoku quality was top notch. Thanks Gaurav for the sudokus!

Well i knew it from start that it could be my discard, as math variants are my weak links. Although I thought I will try to do well, but couldn't. Not sure if my performance in this is worst than SM round 1 or better. Let's see. Nonetheless, a wonderful set of puzzles, still have to complete 3 high pointers. Thanks Gaurav for the Puzzles. I can't solved it all on time, but some of them I break it after test over. Thanks Gaurav.

... A really hard test, surely not ideal in my opinion for an SM. Enjoyed both the killer 9*9 as well as the 258 sum 9*9.Both of them were hard, challenging and satisfying solves :) The Little killer 9*9 was almost inaccessible(in the contest) in its difficulty for me,and hence had to forego it. Thanks to Gaurav for the challenging set.

I can't say I'm convinced by the diagonally linked cages for killer - and again whilst I'm not sure it's a bad thing overall, but in terms of the feedback the form asks for, this target distribution seems to be something of a nonsense. Perhaps this little and large format is too limiting?

A very hard set.I always find Math variants inherently difficult and this set was no exception.Nonetheless, I was in a good position to complete the set with 14 mins left (and 5-6 min spent at the start) for the Little Killer which just spoiled my test totally. The start logic which I got after the test was just too difficult for me to find during the test.I wouldn't have minded something like this in the middle of the solve but if it's at the start it's like, either you get the logic and complete or you don't complete at all and suffer.I fell into the latter and which is why I personally wouldn't prefer sudokus like these in a contest. Favourites are killer ,258 outside and Diagonal product. An average experience and an ok test overall for me.Thanks Gaurav for the set.

These were some beautiful and a bit hard type of puzzles. All the puzzles were great and I enjoyed solving them. Sudoku N was my favorite hands down. Especially the 9x9 grid which did not have a single dot given. :) On a personal note, I felt the Diagonal Product 9x9 could have been given a few more clues. It would require a lot of elimination and pencilmarking which again in my opinion was too much in this puzle. In a time bound competition, players tend to jump to T&E rather than enjoy the beauty of a logical solve. But again it could be that I missed seeing the opening that was intended. :) Overall, Great Job Gaurav :) |
