Firstly, as mentioned in the instructions booklet (page 4), the difficulty of an example is not necessarily reflective of the difficulty of the corresponding competition Sudoku. About the overall difficulty of different rounds, we have tried to match with that of the online rounds. |

Posts: 542 Country : India | rajeshk posted @ 2015-05-06 12:57 PM For the relay round can the hints of Sudoku 1 be distributed to Sudoku 3? I think hints of Sudoku 1 can only go to Sudoku 2 and from Sudoku 2 to Sudoku 3. In the IB for the Relay Sudoku (Classic -> Either Or -> Either Or) hints on Sudoku 3 are shown as A and B which needs to be corrected to C and D. |

Posts: 71 Country : India | shera90 posted @ 2015-05-08 8:03 PM In the IB fro offline finals it is written that The permitted items which may be taken into the competition hall and used are: Pens, pencils, erasers, rulers, instruction booklets (optionally annotated with notes regarding instructions and preparation notes) and blank paper. Does that means i can bring any solved example types not present in IB (with how to solve tricks for that particular sudoku) along with the IB ? |

Posts: 774 Country : India | rakesh_rai posted @ 2015-05-11 4:24 PM The finale of the inaugural Sudoku Mahabharat was indeed superb. We really enjoyed the first four rounds of solving - each of them tested a different aspect of solving - and the fifth round was a good eye-check up test. There was healthy competition between the top 5 and anyone could have won on their day. In the end, the recreational activities were very enjoyable as well. And it was a perfect opportunity to meet a lot of old timers and some new faces, apart from Deb, Rohan and Prasanna, of course. A lot of effort must have gone into the organization of the finals - both the puzzle part and the logistics part. Thanks to all the organizers of the event. The prizes on offer were well thought of. And the venue was also perfect for the occasion. The organization was flawless. We stuck to the round timelines and scores were available almost real time. I can say that those who could not make it to the finals missed a great event. |
