Thank you, Silke See the Instruction booklet and then the answer key codes for each puzzle given on the results page. My guess is, you have entered the sum of all shaded cells in each of the marked rows/columns whereas the key asked is the length of each shaded block in the marked rows/columns. As a result, the key you would enter by your interpretation for the Instruction Booklet example would be 3,4,2, but it is the length of each shaded block in order for each marked row/column. |

That is upto the author to decide, if the keys you provided still give enough information of whether you have solved the puzzles or not. In this case the author is Serkan so he can answer that best. |

Posts: 225 Country : Thailand | tamz29 posted @ 2013-09-18 1:28 AM kiwijam - 2013-09-17 3:20 AM @Tawan, you can think about this question before the contest starts, once you know the points value for each puzzle. After doing a little practise, you should know which puzzle types you like and which you don't like. Basically, that's how I decide. I always do giant puzzles if I like the type, and never if I don't like them. If you don't have an opinion, then the other option is to wait until you are halfway through the test. If you are going fast, then try the big one (otherwise you might end up with time remaining at the end but nothing small to do. If you're going slowly, then stay with the small puzzles. And I always leave the smallest puzzle until last, to fill the last gap if there is one. Serkan's large puzzles aren't too tough, they just look big. Once you have some confidence they'll be easier to start. But if you want a safety net: screenshot the puzzle, solve it in Paint instead of paper, keep copies of the solution as it progresses... You're right. They're a breeze once the competition environment was over. |

Posts: 114 Country : India | devarajand posted @ 2013-09-18 6:25 AM Image editor converts a give file to required format online. I think it is not a downloadable software. Whereas Image printer can be downloaded and saved. It prints the given PDF files in to editable formats. Image printer 2.1. version if free. But all TVC puzzles had problems . I had no problems with other images from other competitions, download images from other puzzle makers. Edited by devarajand 2013-09-18 6:25 AM |

In fact, most players (that I know) who solve on Paint (or similar software) prefer this method. Please try the same.Image editor converts a give file to required format online. Posts: 241 Country : Indonesia | chaotic_iak posted @ 2013-09-18 8:32 AM See that button labelled PrtScr or something similar on your keyboard? Press it while you see the puzzle on your screen. Then go to MS Paint or some other image editor on your computer and paste (Ctrl+V). There you go. This has nothing to do with "copying" PDF files, which you can also do just like you copy other kinds of files. |

Posts: 114 Country : India | devarajand posted @ 2013-09-18 10:58 AM I am sorry as you can paste the files but it cannot be edited. Only open option is use Image printer or Editor. Image printer is fast but unless the lines are drawn as continuous one you have to redraw the lines. I have not tried Image editor. If the puzzle authors take note of this I hope more people who do not have printing facilities will also participate. |
