In Nagastra, when the clues say "using a mine" or "using a star", does it imply that the Path passes the region in the subsequent steps OR does it have to be just the next step?

In Box and Blob, the X mark (in C7, between R4 and R5) is an indicator that there won't be a green line there (otherwise there would be 2 solutions for that region), correct?
