Do we need to be able to print in colour to do this test? I see a lot of colours in the puzzles and especially for the Trid on the tetrahedron, I see it maybe causing trouble.

So how do the puzzles here compare to the ones in the offline contest? I'm guessing some of them are probably the same, but the offline instruction booklet also includes several puzzle types not in the LMI instruction booklet, and has a longer time allowed to complete everything. I'm also guessing that for this version of the contest, the "rounds" don't really matter.

For the online LMI contest, there are no rounds structure. There will be just the 13 types (17 puzzles) in one go. So the rounds structure mentioned in IB does not mean much to the online contest.

For the offline contest, there are some additional puzzle types, and certainly more puzzles. May be we can ask Riad to post all puzzles once the contest is over.

This is not necessary.
For the online version the Trid on the tetrahedron I especially made smaller (stings arrows). On A4 paper, diameter of each circle is 6 mm. At Moscow Puzzle Cup this puzzle will be on A3 paper.

How balanced do you think the puzzle types of this test were? A bit skewed
What was your opinion of the distribution of easy/hard puzzles? A bit hard
What did you think about the puzzle quality of the test? Very nice
What was your opinion about the answer key extraction? Mostly perfect answer keys
How did you feel about the length / time limit for this test? Way too many puzzles (too little time)
Of the puzzles you solved/attempted, how well did their point values reflect the difficulty/time spent? All puzzles were worth the right amount
What was your opinion of the booklet formatting and printing? Just right

After all we dont want a situation where in the feedback we see more people choosing way too many puzzles(but too little time)again.
After almost a day, it looks like we will get same kind of feedback.

As my feedback share shows, I don't think the puzzles themselves were too hard this time, except the big pointers of course. There's enough there of all difficulties to get through. Its just the quantity that was high this time.

I had fun. Nice puzzles. A bit surprised I somehow topped the standings so far. With 10 more minutes I might have pushed out the second pentomino, but I couldn't directly find an opening so opted for the trids instead as I figured i'd at least get some partial credit for doing those. Managed to work my way to the answer key circles for all. Think it might have been better to have complete rows for those.

[Edit] After just doing it, I think that second pentomino puzzle is absolutely brilliant.

Thanks Riad. Lovely puzzles from you as usual. I look forward to doing the remaining ones at my leisure.

It is a pity that the 'instant score/correction' facility wasn't enabled for this contest. It is an excellent feature of LMI contests that avoids nearly all claims for typos.

Congratulations Ulrich, Bram and Nikola!

In puzzle ratings, “Trid on tetrahedron” (9.66) and “Pentamino 2” (9.40) are at the top. It is noteworthy that “Pentamino 2” puzzle is not submitted by anyone.
According to statistics, “Five ships 1” had least accuracy. 9 players (out of 40) made a mistake while submitting this puzzle.

Thanks to all Moscow Cup participants and LMI!

A quick database query shows this is the first puzzle in LMI tests not to be submitted by anyone.

I was on my way to submitting it, and made a counting mistake and thought the solution was wrong. Only one to submit a puzzle correctly would've been quite a nice stat. Ah well..

Anyway, I don't think this is due to the puzzle being extremely hard or something, while it was definitely one of the tough ones, I think the main reason is the high percentage of easy puzzles in there that people would attempt before it. Whatever be the case I really enjoyed working through it and the rest of the puzzles on the set.
