Posts: 315 Country : The Netherlands | Para posted @ 2012-02-10 11:53 AM I also had a question about Tapa Guard. In an undivided cell, if there are equal digits, should each observe that amount of cells in a different direction? I used this in my puzzle, but I wasn't 100% sure if I was correct in assuming that now. At least it's handy to know submitting in the grace period will always increase your score as no puzzle is worth less than the total penalty. Edited by Para 2012-02-10 11:57 AM |

Posts: 183 Country : Turkey | yureklis posted @ 2012-02-10 1:28 PM euklid - 2012-02-10 11:40 AM I don't understand the rules of Tapa Guard. From the example I have a theory. I have repeated rule 2 in a way that it makes sense to me. All changed words are upper-case: 2 - Each digit represents a guard, observing EXACTLY that amount of blackened cells in the corresponding DIRECTION. A digit in an undivided cell MUST observe in AT LEAST ONE of the four directions. Yes, a digit in an undivided cell should observe in at least one of the 4 direction. It can observe all four directions, or two of them, or three of them; but in any case it has at least one observation. |

I didn't use that you mentioned clue type in competition puzzles. All undivided clue cell has only one digit. |
