1) gapped kakuro - i only got number '6' in the bottom row
and 2)sea battle. not getting the start...

In the Sea Battle you have to recognize that there are 22 ship elements. And there are 11 regions. Hence all regions contain exactly 2 ship elements from 2 different ship.
(I think there are just some places where the 4-long ship can be.)

Acorrding to sum, like 31 in r4c3, we can figure out r56789c3 must have digits.
4 in r8c4 shows r8c68 contain 1 and 3, because of the rule "empty cells cannot be adjacent".

Then

In Col 9, the sum is 10, so only two more cells can have digits.

r79c8 must contain digits.

r7c7?4, r7c8?5, so r7c6 must be blank.

if r8c8=1, then r7c8?8 r7c8+r7c7?12, so r8c8=3, r8c6=1.

In r9c78 only one can be 9, so r7c7=45, r7c8=56,
then r7c9=1->r7c7=4, r7c8=6...

By the way, I find your new method of translation much interesting. I reckon it is easier than the previous method of copying all images.

Only if there is some blank between rule and puzzle image for typing, I can do like this

Do you know the software "HyperSnap"? It's easy to snapshot picture and edit it.

only one doubt- how did u got that in column 9 the other two digits has to be in r2 and r4..

See the picture before it.

Remember the rule "empty cells cannot be adjacent", and Col 9 only can have two digits more.

Maybe this question was answered somewhere before, but I am too lazy to look for it now. In Number Skeleton puzzle does it matter in which direction are the numbers fill in? The IB has also another solution, when you turn it (199, 2X8, 357).

And I found 2 solutions for Liar Slitherlink [the cave end in the lower right that surrounds the 1 in R6C5, could also be shortened to only go around R6C4 and still be valid]. Just checking.

All the puzzles from IB have only one valid solution. In the Liar Slitherlink you probably forget to use columns, where is also only one incorrect clue.

The row/column marking is incorrect here. First row and first column should have been marked. The answer key, in that case, is 199#123 or 123#199.

Are you sure there are 2 different ships in each area and not just 2 different ship parts in the alternate solutions? As I made it, I can assure the example is unique.

About the ESB Flip...
Do the "line"s have to mirror one another?
In the example, you don't have to think the correspondence of lines to solve, but the lines were to be finally mirrored each other.

Lines do not have to mirror each other. It is just a co-incidence in the example. (Please check the actual puzzle in FLIP - http://logicmastersindia.com/lmitests/dl.asp?attachmentid=86&view=1 and its solution in page 15 )

Really nice puzzles there. Will have to solve the rest later, got muddled up in many of them. Not happy with my performance, but quite happy with my rank I guess. Admins, you can ignore my claim for points, I know even the alternate I gave is wrong. Just checked back. Silly me.

That puzzle has unique solution. Probably Anurag didn't read rules well, so probably he broke that puzzle. So please not consider Anurag's comment, that puzzle has unique solution.

Congratulations to MellowMelon for winning by a huge margin. xevs takes the second spot. willwc is the 3rd position, his first time in LMI podium. It will be interesting to see what effect this test has on the ratings (it will be updated in an hour).

Congratulations also to Branko for being top Serbian player, narrowly ahead of Nikola.

Good to see Rakesh back, and he takes the top Indian spot.

Reminder to self - Do not schedule any test during Christmas period in next year(s). Thanks everyone who took time out during the festive period to participate in the test. Those who couldn't can still enjoy the puzzles.
