In Puzzle 03/10 (Extra Regions Super-Consecutive Sudoku), my understanding of the rules was that all possible small circles would be marked. However, in the example there is no small circle between the last 2 digits in column 5, despite their difference being equal to the number in the corresponding big circle. Please clarify.

Your understanding is correct. We will update the example. Thanks!

In classic sudoku, I have to solve 12 sudoku in 40 min or 1 sudoku in 40 min.

Is there also a small circle missing between 4 and 8 in column 5?

I think the example for puzzle 07/07 (Rossini Sudoku) requires 1 additional given digit. It does not currently have a unique solution.

Thank you for pointing that out! Adding 2 to R1C1 should work! We will update that in the next version of IB. Apologies for the confusions!

The rules to the Odd Even Arrow Sudoku state that "A digit in the circle of an arrow gives the number of digits of the same parity along that arrow". This seems ambiguous to me (but I am not a native speaker):
Do x numbers on the arrow all have to be of the same parity, where x is the number in the circle OR
Do x numbers on the arrow all have to be of the same parity that the number in the arrow also shares?
It looks like thatis the case for the arrows with a three - they are all uneven and share that characteristic with the 3 in the circle. Is that a coincidence?

Also, will all the puzzles be worth the same amount of points? If not, are the puzzles in the IB currently presented in accending order of points or will a list be provided prior to competition?

A points table will be provided soon along with the fixes to issues pointed out in the IBs.

To the specific question about Odd Even Arrow, The number in the circle is the number of digits along the arrow that have the same parity AS the number in the circle. So a 3 in a circle would mean there are 3 odd digits while a 4 in a circle would mean there are 4 even digits. Hope that clears it up.

Apologies. The Rossini Sudoku example (07/07) does have a unique solution. It's just very hard. The instruction booklet is very high-quality. Augurs well for the competition itself. Thank you, organisers.

2 is the most. Similar to the Sudoku GP.

IB with points

The next version of the Instruction Booklet, with points, is now published on the landing page. Soon the competition round links will also be published there. For quick reference, the new IB can be found at https://www.worldpuzzle.org/files/106/ws+pc%20sudoku%20IB%20v4.pdf

Any further issues will be handled in forum unless critical.

We are very sorry that the correct picture of R3P10 ER Super Consecutive is not updated. There should be an additional circle between R56C5 and an additional circle between R89C5. Sorry for the confusion!

There will be no online solving for the main Sudoku or puzzle competition rounds. The ideal scenario is printing them out, yes. To be clear, you won't be printing them "before" the contest but "during" it, you get the password to the PDF after clicking on start once the timer starts up - its the same for everyone.

In Part 3, 2. Kropki Pairs Sudoku: What does the Pairs mean here? Is it related to rule that not all possible dots are marked? Just to clarify that I'm not missing something :)

Yes that is exactly what it is. Kropki: All dots marked. Kropki Pairs: Not necessarily so.

Hello everyone, is it possible that for the 13/14/15 Magic Autumn example (Made in China), there are more than 1 solution for column B? Or maybe did I miss something? I have 3 possibilities 1/50 - 2/25 - 5/10, having correctly all the other numbers.
Thanks in advance :-).

Yes, that (Puzzle R6P4) Terra XX sample puzzle was broken, we have the correct name and a new sample puzzle in (Puzzle) Instruction Booklet v3.
By the way, this thread is for discussions about the Sudoku Competition, questions about the Puzzle Competition should be under another one.
