Hex Slitherlink Author Posts: 109 ![]() Location: France | Thanks a lot for the clarification! I must say I'm pretty excited about the concept of this round -- the IB example was already a lot of fun to solve! Though I will probably do badly, I tend to panic in rounds with heavily linked multiple puzzles, and region division puzzles aren't my strong suit. Denis

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: India | Puzzle Booklet - Notes1. Puzzle booklet will not contain any rules, examples, points details or answer key descriptions. It will only contain the puzzle name and puzzle grids. 2. There will be two version of the puzzle booklet - one in A4 and the other in A3 size.

Classics & Regions (PR 2016/17) Author Posts: 164 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Location: Germany | This looks super fun, really enjoyed the example. Question about the booklet: I imagine A3 would be a single page while A4 splits the puzzle across two pages at a similar resolution? Also some formatting wishes (it will work fine as is, but if you happen to address this, lovely): - the grid lines are very thick/opaque, making it hard to recognize a wall drawn over it; thinner dashing would be great - I can make out the difference between blue and red on a grayscale print-out, but they're pretty close; I think if blue were made a bit lighter it would still be recognizable easily and the difference would be more clear

A3 is single page and A4 is 5 pages with same resolution of puzzles (2 puzzles for 1 page) rob - 2021-01-14 3:29 PM - the grid lines are very thick/opaque, making it hard to recognize a wall drawn over it; thinner dashing would be great - I can make out the difference between blue and red on a grayscale print-out, but they're pretty close; I think if blue were made a bit lighter it would still be recognizable easily and the difference would be more clear About thick lines, do you mean boundary lines? Because all other lines inside puzzle are dashed for that reason. I print it several times with different resolution, and everytime the lines was good. The coloring was my issue from the beggining, if use, and in what form, but I should stick with this version. The actual puzzle will look pretty "similar" so, I belive, that it will be clear.

No, I meant the dashed lines. They're quite dark and thick compared to usual puzzle renderings, so I find myself having to work my pencil hard to see a clear difference between "unused line" and "used line". (I zoomed in on the booklet earlier and now understand a bit better for why they look the way they do. That's a very creative solution for making dashed lines :p, and I understand how it's difficult to change.) Anyway, as I said I'll manage, and I promise I'll stop bugging you about that now. :p
