Sudoku 6 : Creasing

I googled the meaning of monotonic and found it to be " (of a function or quantity) varying in such a way that it either never decreases or never increases."

So does that mean successive digits along the marked line may be equal too ? This case doesn't occur in the IB example

Successive digits cannot be equal. Standard Creasing Sudoku.

7 Clone Sudoku and 8 Consecutive Clone Sudoku

Same questions for both.
Will the shapes have the same orientation in the grid? And if not, can symmetric shapes be seen as rotated or mirrored?
Will there be two shapes in the grid or could there be more?

The shapes will have the same orientation, they cannot be rotated or reflected.
There will be exactly two shapes.

The shapes will be clear and evident.

Applies to both, Clone and Consecutive Clone.
