I remember discussing with Deb about having 'lots of prizes'. Many random ones too. People like being surprised and called on stage. Idea is to give something to as many people as possible.
Just like the Russians have their special prize each year, we can give some specific prizes apart from the usual ones (U-18, A-50).

Some ideas:

1. Topper of each round (outside the people in playoffs, or outside Top-3 / Top-10).
2. Score closest to 2017.
3. Most difficult puzzle/sudoku to check :-D

If there are more ideas and this is reasonable, I can think through more options and prizes.

One thing we should give and encourage people to start it as a new norm is to give something for the best solver from a country. Maybe we need eligibility for this like a full team needing to be there. Its something that always seems to be a source for competition within teams anyway, so will be organic to appreciate it publicly.

The problem with that is, the same players will be getting the prize. Tiit, Bastien, Kota, etc. which is what I don't want.
Maybe Top Player from each country's B-Team. This can also lead to increase in participation if the prize is announced beforehand :-)

I'm still thinking a little out-of-the-box and more random prizes... like 'Score closest to 2017'. The prizes should be such that NO ONE can predict who'll get it.

How about top player from countries not in the team top 10? Tiit may still be eligible (or not, haven't checked Team Estonia's ranks), but that's a rare case.

Also, like score closest to 2017 maybe we can think of things themed around 12 and 26 too in WSC and WPC respectively. 12 is such a boring number though :P
