Country : India | Must say, those are some awesome smug-looking fish.
For those of you who don't already know, I created one of the Anglers Tapa type on my blog here - http://prasannaseshadri.wordpress.com/2012/02/04/puzzle-no-35-36-ta...
Note : Slight difference in the rules on mine and the IB - in mine, the fish aren't part of Tapa wall.
You can use that for practice, since some of you may already have done so. Edited by prasanna16391 2012-02-17 12:21 PM

Country : India | Hi, I have a doubt in Magnetic Tapa. I think the polarity order in Column 1 (marked in a rectangle ) should be -, + instead of +, - as given in IB. Please let me know if I am wrong somewhere. Regards, Ravi Edited by macherlakumar 2012-02-17 7:12 PM

No I made same way, all undivided cells have one digit like TVC IX puzzles. |

edit: I also find multiple solutions for your braille tapa. Is there some mistake on my side?

It says there will be 2 grids given in the instructions for tapa and pata. For the distiller you will get 5 grids. The overlapped grid and 4 empty grids to put your puzzles in. |

You just had to make the rules so my Shortest Segment Tapa was incorrect. I let the puzzle run a lot on "there has to be a minimal segment" rule. Will make something new. Luckily I hadn't posted it yet. |

Yes. If there is a outside clue (sure it will be ) it means that there must appear some blackened blocks. |

Why would you want to confuse the solver with a clue if the row was empty.
Well it could be possible for a row to only contain 1 and 2 segment pieces because of clues or other parts of the wall and by putting a 3 there you could force the whole row to remain empty. Which wouldn't have to be the case if that 3 wasn't there. But it doesn't apply here, just showing how it could be helpful if the option was there. Edited by Para 2012-02-23 3:07 AM

That's the real panache: You share everything you know, then you win the tournament, and then you say: "I proved that I'm the best !", (and then perhaps everyone hate you )

Country : United States | Was Braille Tapa perhaps inspired by my and Alan Fetters' Mystery Hunt puzzle this year, or was it a complete coincidence that it appeared here? I'm honored if so, amused if not. I found the tiny alphabet subset (including a "letter" that is not actually a valid Braille letter) interesting. It's definitely more manageable for the solver, though undoubtedly limiting for the constructor. |

As Serkan has mentioned in the IB (last page ), Braille Tapa was certainly inspired from your Mystery Hunt puzzle, or more likely from your blog post. (20120228_113713.png) Attachments ---------------- 20120228_113713.png (37KB - 1 downloads) |

I wasn't fishing for a credit (actually, I was more afraid that I had forgotten there was a Braille Tapa puzzle on the contests last year and had inadvertently stolen the idea from someone else) but I certainly appreciate one...it impressed my wife, at least. :) |
