You are right Tawan.

One unrelated note : This test will not be considered for monthly ratings because it is open only on 2 weekdays [it may not be convenient for many players to participate].

Can we extend the test over to the weekend. Participants not travelling for the WSC/WPC can then take it at leisure over the weekend.

Can we (non WSC/WPC participants) participate both WPC Practice and WSC Practice Tests over the weekend.

Yes. We will adjust the timing to allow it to carry on, but please note that our admin team is inactive over the weekend, so any claims can only be attended after the weekend. This is especially relevant in Match, because there are numerous Match possibilities and we have to manually approve them as they are submitted.

Interesting.I thought otherwise seeing this sentence"Since the WSC IB does not have details about the variants to be used, WE have picked 8 different variants from different rounds "from the IB.
But nevertheless a splendid job! Deb for creating a diverse range of sudokus and organizing the test in such a short time span.

Haha, good catch. I think there's some other aspects to organizing a test in addition to writing the puzzles. Especially in a new style of contest. We did discuss a lot about the Beginners' Contest format for instance. It was the same here with Match (not as much the format, as this was decided by the WSC organizers, but more about the scoring).

Note : I also pre-tested this set (Rohan did too), and so you will not see my name in the result list as a participant.

I did garbage. Spent too much time on the odd/disjoint sudoku, only to have botched solving it. Anyways, when will the solution be available?

Solutions will be available only after the practice test ends. (Originally planned to end in another 24 hours, but it looks like we will extend it after couple of requests).
I can send the solution to your registered email address, if that is a valid one. Let me know.

That's got to be the worst puzzling I've done in years. Errors in the nine dragons/skyscraper combo, but somehow got 1 key right. Forgot about the 3x3 boxes when copying the sum clues to the irregular and got stuck badly because of it and ended up wrong after a uniqueness deduction. Couldn't finish the NC/AK in the end. I hope Beijing goes better.

I had a big debate with myself before publishing the PB "Should I be drawing the 3X3 boxes in the Irregular Sudoku?" But since Prasanna and Rohan solved with the version without 3X3 box, I didn't change the image.

We have so far been extremely lenient in this test. So you will get some points.

Ugh! I completely forgot to enter the Match!

Deb: from my submission it should be fairly clear I got 3 pairings correct, and as such the 4th as well. Is that worth some points? I mean, that's a very costly 100 points I stupidly missed!

Did very much the same: copied the clues from irregular to sum ... but then forgot about the irregular shapes themselves.

Geluk in Beijing!

You will get the 100. Deb will have to award it once he's online though. Yours is an exceptional case that I can't handle from my end.

The Match place is mainly to give a chance for people who haven't solved all on time but have made the Match and deserve credit for that. Since you have obviously made the pairings correctly, you'll get the same.

As Deb mentioned though, we're being pretty lenient for this test, so best to learn from it to read the instructions more thoroughly in future

How is the pairing done ? What is the logic ?
As per the score page, many players paired Nine Dragons + Skyscraper first. So I will share the logic to do that pairing.

Note that In ND (Nine Dragons) you can put a 7 at R6C6, which rules out it being paired with Nonconsecutive Or AntiKnight.
ND can't be paired with Irregular (8 given in box 4)
ND can't be paired with Disjoint (5 given in row 4)
ND can't be Odd Sudoku (8 given in column 3)
ND can't be Sum Sudoku (Try to satisfy row 6 of Sum Sudoku, given that R6C6=7)

So ND will have to paired with Skyscraper.

----
There are many other ways to get the pairing done too.
You can check the attachment where you will notice that you can put few digits in each of ND, Irregular, Disjoint.
It will be obvious that these 3 can't be paired with each other, and they also can't be paired with AntiKnight or with Non Consecutive. So AntiKnight goes with Non Consecutive.
Irregular can't go with Odd Sudoku (Check 8 at R1C3). And Irregular can't be Skyscraper, which you would have deduced from the beginning itself (because of 8 at R4C2). So Irregular goes with Sum Sudoku.
Now Disjoint can't be Skyscraper (8 at R2C7) and it can't be Sum Sudoku (9 at R1C2), So Disjoint has to be Odd Sudoku.
