The Indian Puzzle Championship 2010 was an online test on September 12th, 2010. The puzzle-solving skills of contestants were tested using different puzzle variations which appear in the WPCs. Top rankers at the Indian Puzzle Championship were eligible to represent India at the World Puzzle Championship to be held in Warsaw, Poland from 24th-29th October 2010.
Congratulations to Rohan Rao for topping the Indian Puzzle Championship and achieving the double of Indian Sudoku Champion and Indian Puzzle Champion in the same year.
Rajesh Kumar came came in a very close second, only 30 points behind Rohan and fell a little short of retaining his natioanl title.
It is great to see Gaurav Korde and Tejal Phatak making it to the top 4 and converting their experience in Sudoku related puzzles to the wider range of WPC style puzzles.
It is very heartening to see so many first timers in the top 10, a really encouraging sign for the future.Congratulations to all participants for a wonderful performance in the Indian Puzzle Championships. For all newcomers, we would like to see you participate again in upcoming years and put your performances up another notch.
The set of battleships shown in the puzzle booklet (along side the grid) is incorrect. The correct set includes one 4-unit battleship, two 3-unit cruisers, three 2-unit destroyers and four 1-unit submarines. Note that the grid is correct.
