- This contest is of a higher difficulty than our regular Sudoku Mahabharat contests.
- The exact points for each puzzle will be known only after the contest, but placeholders will be assigned for every puzzle for the purposes of the submission page and the live score page.
- We have tried our best with the cell size but the Samurai is still fit onto an A4 sheet which means the cell size will naturally be a bit smaller. If that's a source of discomfort we recommend having some blank grids ready at your preferred cell size.
- A new version of the IB can now be downloaded. There are fixes based on the discussion above on the forum.
- There is also a change to the note that links will be provided in the contest booklet - there will be no online solving links in the contest booklet, since the submission page has them in two ways anyway (either going to the online solving page, or clicking on the puzzle name in the paper solving page).
Given how rarely monthly sudoku contests apart from SM occur of late, it is really refreshing to see them making a comeback with the New Year contest
Sudokus were all very hard but I had great fun and plan to give them a deeper look in the coming days.
Tremendous job by Tyler Chen for creating amazing sudokus and thanks to LMI for hosting the contest !
The Sudoku-wise points have been updated on the score page. We haven't yet added the points for solving at least one Samurai grid. This will be done soon.
