Fantastic set of puzzles! Very positive start to the WPC for me :)

I am not sure about how to submit:
A is 5 characters - okay
B is 6 characters - also okay
but
C is 7 characters (not 5)
D is 4 characters (not 5)
???

I have not seen first the box that said, how many characters should go in each answer box...
