I had sent a solution which differed by 2 digits on the vertical counts . Probably,Jan is right. But i m not sure,as didnt look back at it.

Anurag, You have to use the given number of mines (i.e. 24 in the first and 18 in the second).
If you have other solutions than what is posted here, please share.
