At BIT Mesra, the sudoku championship was organised in two rounds .first round started at 11:00 am on 19 th february. almost 110 students took part in it . i solved all the puzzles in 37 minutes . no other person could solve all the sudokus . so i was leading in the prelims. altogether 40 students were selected for the finals on 2nd day.

on the 2nd day the sudokus were a bit easier then on the 1st day. but i made silly mistakes twice in odd even sudoku. so i had to erase 2 times all the entries i had put in . finally i solved it in about 12 mniutes . my overall time was 41 minutes. same as on the 1st day no one could solve all the sudokus except me in the stipulated time of 1 hour. as a result i was declared the winner at bit,mesra ranchi.

but for the national finals i am sure are going to be totally different from the reginal rounds . i am really looking forward to the finals with more and more practice and giving my best shot at it.

Thanks for the post Shaheer.
There are many new participants at all regional centers, so we ensured that the Sudokus in regional centers (both Round1 and Round2) are easy so that new players won't feel out of place. Having difficult sudokus at regional centers does not make sense.

Yes, the sudokus at National Finals will be at a different level. It will definitely be a challenge to complete the round in 50% of the allocated time (like you have done here or Jaipal or Akash have done at other centers)

We've left it to the colleges to decide the prizes, if any.

What is the schedule for national finals??
Does anyone know what is the pattern of competition in the national finals??
I will be appearing for the first time in the nationals.

i just hope that the national finals are after 20th may 2011 because of my mid sem exams or i'll not be able to participate in the championship.
