LMI partners with IIT Madras to organize a Sudoku competition during the Saarang festival in IIT Madras. The Sudokus are written by me, and there is a downloadable instruction booklet in the "Event Format" tab of the link above.
Event related queries must go to the Saarang team, but puzzle related queries can go here.
round 2 of prelims and playoffs have same variations. there is no difference among them in time as well.
there should have been some difference between them
A playoff should ideally reflect the performance over the preliminary rounds. That is why there are two Classics to represent Round 1, and the four variants to represent Round 2.
Also, the playoff format will not be on paper. There is a note that this round will also make it possible for audiences to view the solvers. It will be a first-to-finish format, and 1 hour is a rough estimate to let people know the timeline for which they need to be present. You'll know more details about the playoff at the venue.
Prelims (Round 1 and Round 2) had close to 250 participants over three days. 63 participants qualified for Round 3. Top 6 from round 3 (linked classics) moved to round 4, where they had to solve six sudokus on big 3ft x 3ft flex grids. The first three finishers were the three winners of the event.
Round 3 Early finishers: 1. Vidhya Ramaswamy (34 mins), 2. R V Jeevithesh (37 mins), 3. Aditya Pradeep (40 mins), 4. Sri Harsha Arangi (44 mins), 5. Siddharth Ahuja (47 mins) and 6. Ahmed Sameer Khan (48 mins)
Round 4 (Audience Round) Winners: 1. Aditya Pradeep, 2. Ahmed Sameer Khan, 3. Vidhya Ramaswamy
