While we all are bidding goodbye to 2010, it is time to reflect on how things went for LMI in 2010.

ISC2010 - Jan'10
We had an online Sudoku Championship, followed by offline finals at Techfest IIT Mumbai. It was LMI's first offline event. We got decent amount of media coverage. The whole event very smoothly. We can only hope to do a bigger event in 2011.

Moving to Forum - Feb'10
Many new members might not know that LMI was using Orkut before moving to this new forum on 16-Feb.
The new forum enabled us to do things in our way, much more flexibily than Orkut.
Since the inception of the forum, we have added 1000+ users in close to 8 months.

DecaFest 2010 - Feb'10
In our effort to popularize Sudoku across India, we conducted offline event Decafest 2010 in FMMC, Mangalore.

Cognizance 2010 - Mar'10
In our effort to popularize Sudoku and Puzzles across India, we conducted offline event Cognizance 2010 at IIT, Roorkee

Mock Tests - Feb-Apr'10
Our never ending series of Mock tests, just before WSC gave lot of practice to players around the world!

India at WSC2010 - Apr'10
India produced one of its best performances in WSC 2010, Philadelphia, with Rohan and Gaurav in top 20. We will hope to do better than this in Hungary.

Start of Monthly Tests - May'10
We started LMI Monthly tests in May with Mastermind Twins, and grew as months passed by. Several authors contributed to our monthly tests, and LMI will always be thankful to them for monthly tests' success. As of today, we had 600+ different participants across these monthly tests.

Start of Monthly Puzzle Tests - Jul'10
After the successful Sudoku tests and after popular demands, we started series of Monthly Puzzle tests in July. Most LMI puzzle tests were uniquely designed keeping the varying expertise of LMI players which includes current and former world champions as well as players who probably have solved only classic Sudokus.

IPC2010 - Oct'10
Another successful event for us, which saw 61 Indian players. With IPC2011 going to multiple colleges, we are certain that 2011 will see a much better event.

India at WPC2010 - Oct'10
India had a moderately successful year at WPC with Rohan finishing 41st, and team India finishing 22nd

Screen Test - Dec'10
LMI organized WPC-type Screen Test, probably the first such event outside WPC, which gave many players a chance to get a feel of Screen Test. The concept was widely appreciated, though some of the puzzles could have been better.

Thanks to all the players and all the authors for your continued participation and support for LMI

With so many highlights in the year, it is very difficult to choose 1.
If I were to choose 2 most significant ones, they will be ISC2010 offline event at Techfest and beginning of Monthly tests.

I agree with you Deb.

The most significant was the start of Monthly Tests with participation level increasing gradually. Also, the offline event at Techfest was a success for LMI.

Another important milestone in the LMI history is the launch of sudoku and puzzle ratings which is certainly going to increase the competitive spirit in the puzzling world.

Mastermind twins is the test which still comes top of the mind, when I think of LMI tests. So, I guess the LMI test culture which was brought about in May 2010, has to be the highlight of the year.

Good point Neeraj, I missed it.

Yes, Mastermind twins introduced 2 key things at LMI tests
1) Naming a test - This is one thing that I personally like most. It is very difficult to recall what was mock16 or who wrote puzzles for mock16 for example. But it is easy to recall a test when it has a name.
2) Theme based / Related puzzles - This is something we still follow today, and may be we can follow as long as players enjoy!

I will vote for starting of monthly tests. Another I will agree with Neeraj regarding the starting of puzzles and Sudoku rating. Next one is going to different colleges for IPC and ISC 2011. Even though this event is going to be in 2011 but this was planned in 2010.
