No.
26th July is Times Sudoku Prelims in Bangalore and 2nd Aug is Times Sudoku Finals in Mumbai. So it cannot happen before IPC which is on 9th Aug.

About - Indian Puzzle Championship - 2016

Logic Masters India (LMI) is conducting the Indian Puzzle Championship (IPC) 2016 (tentatively) in July-2016. Unlike the last few years, the format is different, as the qualification for the IPC will begin in late August 2015.

There will be a series of eight online rounds (called Puzzle Ramayan, similar to last year's Sudoku Mahabharat for Sudokus), which act as a qualifier for the offline national finals. The Top-50 players from the online rounds will qualify for the finals. Provisions will be made for a deserving Indian performer not living in India to get on the National team. There will also be a system to reward newcomers & inexperienced solvers to preserve the essence of Sudoku Mahabharat and carry it forward to Puzzle Ramayan. This may include having separate criteria for the Ramayan winner and the IPC winner.

More details will be announced soon.

Details Including Schedule

Details are published here -
http://logicmastersindia.com/PR/2015-16pr.asp

As with Sudoku Mahabharat, this is mainly to put out the general format, schedule and idea of the event, we may iron out a few details like prizes, etc. a bit more soon.
We realize that September is pretty crowded, this is mainly because we need to keep a space for the World Championships in October.

Update - Wild Card

Following his impressive 19th place finish in the 24th World Puzzle Championship in Sofia, Bulgaria, Prasanna Seshadri gets a wildcard into the Indian A team for the 25th WPC in Slovakia, and won't be eligible for the Puzzle Ramayan leader-board and finals.

Update - Scoring system

After the first 3 rounds, we have noticed that it is very difficult to maintain a consistent difficulty level across rounds. This means, under the current scoring system, some rounds will become discards by default, which negates the discard advantages. So, we have decided to alter the scoring system to scale the scores in comparison to the best score for each round, starting at 100 and going lower. For the Puzzle Ramayan rankings, it will be the best Indian score among eligible players. For the International rankings it will be the best score in the round.

I don't get the point of showing best 2 out of 3. Finally, the worst two results get discarded. Why are we discarding just 1? I don't think this is an indication of actual rankings.
If you show results of best 1 out of 3, thats the 'actual score' the players are currently in. Or, always show best 6 out of 8, where all the remaining rounds are 0 until they get populated.

I said in the sense that, as some of us are authoring 1 round each, so we know that that round will be definitely discarded. So in that sense I said to show best 2 out of 3 until we have more enough rounds to discard 2 of them.

Same here. Somehow the contests always ended up scheduled on bad weekends for me -- hope to compete in more than 2 of 8 next time.

p.s. I vote for longer timeframes for each context -- weeknights are usually better for me than weekends.

For rounds 1,2,4 -> order of puzzles in PB will match with that in IB.
I'm not 100% sure about R3 yet, but it should match too. If it does not, we will reflect the same in points table.

Technically, data is insufficient in both cases. Remember that you should/can not be using rulers to find length of lines.

In first case, you need a ruler to measure that the height of the rectangle with "?" and the height of the rectangle with area as 15 are same.

We need another line to provide the information that the heights are same.

In second case, since the rectangle in question is completely detached from rest of the world, there is absolutely no information about the height and width.

As I understand this, the sequence has the factors of the clue number (72) in ascending order. So the answer should be 36. What is the logic for 144?

What is the logic for 144?

Rakesh is correct that these are factors of 72 in ascending order. So the next numbers in the sequence are 36 and 72. The sequence is "not defined" after that.

TSC is for selecting 4 finalists(2 experienced + 2 inexperienced) who will be sponsored (Participation and travel expenses)at WSC.The top four in ISC will represent the India-A Team at WSC(they will not be sponsored unless the same person is in top 4 of TSC as well).

*Experienced solver is one who has represented India in past world championships atleast once .

The Indian Sudoku Championship tests the participants on various types of Sudokus and select the National Sudoku Champion and the A Team for the World Sudoku Championship.

The Indian Puzzle Championships tests the participants with other types of puzzles like grid based, visual etc. This is to select the National Puzzle Champion and the A Team for the World Puzzle Championships.

The 2016 edition of both the events were held on July 16-17.

You can participate in the monthly contests in the site and check out the site regularly for any announcements on the 2017 edition of the events.
