I have a question about Japanese railway puzzle. If there are no outside clues in a row/column, does it imply that the corresponding row/column does not contain any shaded cells?

In Snake in the naval forest, can clue outside the grid indicate the number of ships and snake parts at the same time?

Yes, all the clues are given.

Thank you very much for this. I didn't quite get the different neighbours out in time through wasting some time with a couple of mistakes during the competition.

Big thanks to all the competitors!
Congratulations to Endo, Ulrich and Nikola who topped the chart with all the puzzles solved!
Participants voted for "Interconnected fillomino", "Snake in the naval forest" and "Kakuro" as their favorites in the set. It gives me a heads up on what to create for WPC 2015 :)

Thanks to Forsmarts and LMI. Some interesting variants that I've never (or rarely) seen before -- NEWS and Different Neighbors in particular. (Are there similar puzzles available online anywhere?)

Thanks for awesome test, with beautiful puzzles.
Surely not a good performance. At the end moment my printer ink got over :( so had to solve in paint. And entered one swapped digits for one puzzle and so went wrong.
But overall it was good experience.

Congrats to Endo, Ulrich and Nikola!!
Thanks to Vladimir for these great puzzles. I really enjoyed the competition, although at first I was a bit suspicious about these puzzle types and didn't plan to participate. But everything went well and I'm really surprised and happy about my result. I know I shouldn't be there because I know my level, but I am there. Probably I just had my mind clear and had a good day and some other solvers had a bit worse day, or something like that. Anyway which is even more exciting is that the differences are very small and 4-th place wasn't far. My name is between very big names in the puzzle world and that makes me very proud!
