Location: USA For Kid Sudoku, is it allowed for consecutive digits in external sums to overlap? That is to say, could "3412..." be represented by 78573... or something similar? Also, are all cells in rows/columns with given sums included in at least one sum? So that 341 could NOT be represented by 31...?
For Renban Sudoku, does the "distinct consecutive" refer to within each shaded group (so no repeating in a shaded area) or to each group in the puzzle (so no two shaded regions can contain the same combination of digits) or both?
These are ambiguous to me from the instructions and the solutions, and I can see them having an impact on the solving. Thank you!

1. Within each shaded area no numbers can repeat. But the numbers must form a set of consecutive numbers.
2. It is possible for two (or more) shaded regions to have the same combination of digits.

1. No overlap is allowed. So 341256789 will be represented as 876789. We keep on adding numbers till the sum is less than or equal to 9. There is only one way to represent any row/column.
2. All cells are included if a clue is given. The sum of the numbers in an external clue willl always be 45.
Some examples:
829356471 will be represented as 82986471
356271894 will be represented as 888894
192837465 will be represented as 192837465
And so on
