Posts: 774 Country : India | rakesh_rai posted @ 2015-07-12 6:43 PM The meeting was attended by 6 participants - (1) Ashish (2) Ezhil (3) Kishore, (4) Thejesvini, (5) Rakesh and (6) Pranav. The activities that we could cover were (a) Individual Doubt Solving (75 min), (b) Group Solving (20 min), (c) Discuss techniques for Kropki and Arrow (45 min) and (d) Introduction to a puzzle - Slitherlink (40 min). Individual doubt solving: We solved a kropki, a skyscraper and an odd even count sudoku. We also tried to solve a True or Lie logically. We were able to solve it by trial and error, but not logically. We also discussed basic starting techniques for kropki, skyscraper and odd even count with Pranav, the Sudoku Champs winner from Chennai. Group solving: We solved a tough Cubic sudoku brought by Ezhil. Almost everyone contributed in this one. The other variations were all rare variations and we decided to cover them in future meetings. Techniques: Kishore explained the techniques for kropki (three black dots, two black dots, long sequences, etc) and arrow (counting, looking at minimum sum possibilities, starting with long arrows, etc). We all solved one kropki and one arrow sudoku. Slitherlink: Ashish explained the rules of this puzzle. And he explained multiple techniques - mainly typical patterns and the approaches to be followed. There were five puzzles to be solved by everyone. Most of them were not very easy and we got it wrong. After trying for some time we decided to solve them at home. |
