The meeting was attended by 7 participants - (1) Ashish (2) Ezhil (3) Kumaresan, (4) Parameswaran, (5) Rakesh, (6) Ravi and (7) Varun.

The activities that we could cover were (a) Individual Doubt Solving (40 min), (b) Sudoku Team Round 60 min), (c) Discuss X-wing technique (30 min), (d) Introduction to a puzzle - Fillomino (30 min), (e) Group Solving (50 min), (f) Discussion on Sudoku Champs (60 min)

Individual Doubt Solving: We solved inequality from ISC IB, Odd Even View from ISC IB and ISC PB. Some of the techniques we discussed were placing the 9s for inequality, starting techniques for Odd Even View, and marking odds and evens for Odd Even View.

Sudoku Team Round: There were four very tough variants linked by some numbers. The team had to solve and effectively communicate amongst one another for solving this round. Two teams were formed - (a) Ezhil, Ashish and Kumaresan, and (b) Varun, Ravi and Parameswaran. None of the teams were able to complete even one sudoku but the main learning from this round was the importance of communication in team rounds.

X Wing Technique: Ezhil explained the X-wing technique and we solved one sudoku using X-wing technique. Two more sudokus were given as home assignments, as they were too tough.

Fillomino: Ashish explained the rules of this puzzle. And he explained counting technique, blocking technique and extending technique. There were four puzzles to be solved. And all were able to complete at least one puzzle.

Group solving: We started with a Twin Killer Sudoku and made very little progress as the start was very tough. Then we took an irregular diagonal where we were able to place about 11 numbers in 25 minutes. Placing each number was satisfying for the group.

Sudoku Champs: We discussed the planning for Sudoku Champs 2016. This included school selection, format, and learnings from the first year.
