When is the announcement for Times Sudoku Championship 2016 planned?

Hi. The schedule, venues, rules of the Times Sudoku Championship are decided by the Times of India group. They will publish the details, as and when they decide, in their newspapers. Do stay tuned to their newspapers as LMI will not have details on the dates of the event.

If someone comes to know of the tournament details, they can probably share it in this forum for others' benefit

That is generally done anyway. There are always many players awaiting the announcement so the word spreads if its out :)

It's a mistake Rajesh.It is most likely that they failed to change the four to three in the Rules paragraph .

Unfortunately no, You have to reach to one of those cities to participate in TOI SC.

Yes, as per list published on times of india website, the times sudoku championship 2016 (DELHI) is on 30/07/16 i.e. Saturday but while registering thru message ,the reply comes the same except the day mentioned is sunday, so can someone clarify on this , is it 30/07/16 (Saturday) or 31/07/16(Sunday).

I checked with thr Times people and they confirmed that the event is on 30th. Also they checked that the message for Delhi is showing 30th.

Can you confirm if you have used TOI SUDD for registering instead of TOI SUDM?

The day mentioned is Sunday for Delhi registrations in the message.

Clarified above by Amit.

As Amit mentioned above, the event is on July 30 in Delhi. There is a typo in the message on the day mentioned.

I think TOI should re-send the message with the correct day to all the Delhi contestants. There are few who can clarify on this forum and there will be many who are not registered here and may get confused with the date.

Any update from TSC Bangalore? How was the format this year?

Gaurav, Vishal and Harmeet qualified from Bangalore.
Format was same as last few years with first round as 4 Classic Sudoku and second round 6 Classic + 2 Variants.

By when results will be out for the individual(s) (other than top 10) for Bangalore leg of Times Sudoku Championship 2016??

Just going by previous years - Generally the priority of the organizers is to prepare the Sudokus for the remaining rounds and the National finals and make sure the event runs smoothly. So it largely depends on that. By the time the finals are done, usually the regional results are uploaded.

What was the duration of the first round?

They will be uploaded, it just takes a while because of the high number of participants at the regional rounds (the Final was much easier to compute since it was contested between just 16 participants). In the meantime, why not try out some of the puzzles from past contests on this site and sharpen your skills for next year? I recommend trying the Beginners Contests which were held here for a couple of years. All PDFs are archived and free to download here - http://logicmastersindia.com/lmitests/downloads.asp?testType=10 . While you're doing that the organizers can work on getting the results put up.
